About Us

Student Housing of America, Inc. (SHA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2003. Our mission is to provide safe and affordable residential housing for students and resources that empower them, foster academic excellence, and support their physical and mental well-being. Our tax-exempt status allows us to do this in a cost-efficient manner for the benefit of all stakeholders including 3rd party property owners.

We Support Our  Students’ Success

Students residing on our properties are not just our residents…they are our family, and we are laser focused on providing an eco-system that will help them succeed while in school and post-graduation. We work hand in hand with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), corporate partners, and other organizations to address students’ needs and provide for their well-being. Given the immense challenges facing HBCUs, SHA has launched its HBCU Healthy Housing (H3) Initiative, where we partner with HBCUs to acquire and renovate distressed properties near their university.
