The Supreme Court decision rejecting race-conscious admissions in higher education is a backward step for our nation and its progress towards socio- economic equality. This decision, coupled with the systemic underfunding of HBCUs, will have a significant negative impact on educational opportunities for students of color. This will further tax the already strained resources of HBCUs as they struggle to manage the resulting increase in enrollment numbers as a direct result of this decision.
